International Children's Book Day

International Children's Book Day is a global celebration that underscores the vital role of books in children's development and education. It's a day to celebrate the power of storytelling and the impact of children's literature on fostering a lifelong love of reading.

National School Librarians Day

School librarians do far more than manage books — they help students discover new interests, build confidence as readers, and feel at home in their school community. Today we celebrate the librarians who greet every child with curiosity, encouragement, and a genuine love of learning. Their work strengthens classrooms, supports teachers, and creates welcoming spaces where every student can grow.

National Library Outreach Day

National Library Outreach Day celebrates library services that go beyond the physical building, like bookmobiles, pop-up libraries, and home delivery, meeting patrons where they are, and falls on the Wednesday of National Library Week. It was formerly National Bookmobile Day but expanded to encompass all off-site programs, highlighting efforts to increase access, literacy, and community engagement.
