Take Your Child to the Library Day

Take Your Child to the Library Day is an international initiative designed to encourage families to visit their local libraries.

The idea was created by Nadine Lipman and Caitlin Augusta, who wanted to raise community awareness about the valuable resources and events that libraries offer.

The first Take Your Child to the Library Day was celebrated in 2011, and since then, it has grown significantly. Libraries across the US and Canada participate in this annual event, hosting a variety of free and family-friendly activities such as storytimes, crafts, games, and scavenger hunts.

The goal of the day is to help families build a foundation of literacy and a love for learning by providing access to books, early literacy programs, technology, homework help, and more. It's a wonderful opportunity for children to explore the world of books and for parents to learn about the resources their local library has to offer.
