The ceremony included music from the legendary Byron Berline Band, special exhibits and displays, and a reception. Michael Wallis, historian, biographer of the American West, speaker and voice talent served as emcee for the event. Special guests included Duke Keith, grandson of Harold Keith, speaking on behalf of the Keith family; Jay Wilkinson, son of legendary football coach (1947-1963) at the University of Oklahoma; and Molly Griffis, former bookstore owner and friend of Harold Keith.

Sponsors for Dedication were the Pioneer Library System, Friends of the Norman Library, FOLIO, United for Libraries, the University of Oklahoma Athletic Department, University of Oklahoma Press, Oklahoma Center for the Book, and Norman Arts Council.
