2025 Endowment Fundraiser

Each year we rely on donations to continue supporting Friends of Libraries through awards, grants, and scholarships. With your help, we can continue our important work.

By raising $6,000 in tax-deductible donations, we’ll receive a matching grant of $2,000 from the Kirkpatrick Family Foundation. As our endowment continues to grow, we are able to offer additional and more generous awards and scholarships to Friends of Libraries across the state.

Your donations last year allowed us to:

• Double the Best Friends Awards for 2024 to $1,000 each for an outstanding Friends of Library organization in a city or town over 10,000 and one under 10,000 in population
  
  
• Increase the Friends of Libraries Week Awards to $500 each
  
  
• Award four $1,000 Lillian Born Norbert and Mary Lou Atkinson Staff Support Scholarships to recipients Rebecca Hines, Sunghee Ko, Melissa Weiss, and Taryn Wood
  
  
• Create a new Seeds for Success Award: a $500 grant for books to preschoolers plus many grants for free used picture books for take-and-share bookshelves, particularly for children in poverty
